The Housing Authority of the City of Willimantic is a "quasi-governmental agency". While neither a Town, State, or Federal agency, its Commissioners are appointed by the Board of Selectmen of the Town of Windham and it is regulated by both the Federal and State governments. It owns its developments in its own right, but the use and disposal of the property are restricted by covenants with either the United States Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) or the Connecticut Department of Economic and Community Development (DECD).

We are located in Willimantic, at 49 West Avenue, just a few blocks from Route 6.

A five-member Board of Commissioners is the policy making body of the Housing Authority. It meets at 7:00PM on the last Wednesday of each month in the conference room at the Housing Authority's offices, 49 West Avenue, Willimantic. These meetings are open to all members of the public.

Executive Director:

An Executive Director is employed by the Board of Commissioners and is the Chief Executive Officer of the Housing Authority. It is the Executive Director's duty to provide the Board with sufficient information to make policy decisions, to execute the will of the Board as embodied in Board Resolutions, and to administer the day-to-day operation of the organization.
